First the positive. Julie and Dave were incredibly responsive to our needs. The house is located close to Cruz Bay and has incredible views and a great pool. Beds were very comfortable. But a house at this price point should have a stove that works properly. It did not have gas coming into it, so Dave connected it to propane but it did not light properly and you could not control the heat. The toaster was broken and only two of the rooms had hair dryers. The biggest problem were the ants. We had to buy Raid and use it a lot. This was our 15th trip to St. John and I have never seen ants like this! The main room is not air- conditioned and there are no blinds on the western facing windows so it is very hot in the afternoon. This would be easy to fix. We enjoyed our trip and the house, but again, at this price point, these issues are a bigger deal than in a less expensive home.

This place truly is a Gem. It is in an excellent location with a very nice view. Immaculately clean with lots of space both indoors and outdoors. The pool was a favorite spot to relax. We appreciated the use of coolers, chairs and beach towels. Dave and Julie, our hosts were very responsive to our needs. The only drawback that we found was the lack of A.C. In the living room, kitchen, dining area. At supper time the bugs came out and we were forced inside to eat. Due to the sun coming directly in during the evening and the heat of cooking, it was Very hot inside. We were not clear that 3/4 bedrooms only had outdoor showers but got used to it with no issue. Additionally, when it rained, there was no way to get from the common area to the bedrooms and back. This would easily be resolved with some umbrellas in each bedroom and the common area. Overall an excellent week at the Watercliff. Thanks again for a memorable place to stay and we really enjoyed our time.

Perfect Accommodations!
Water Cliff was perfect for our group of 8 adults. The house was well maintained and well stocked with everything we needed. The location was IDEAL, being close to Cruz Bay, and not too far from the beaches. The property managers were excellent, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, and ensuring we knew who to contact if we needed anything. Each of the four bedrooms were well equipped, and had privacy. We will be back! Thank you for a fantastic week.

Wonderful stay in St. John
We very much enjoyed our stay at Water Cliff! The property is set up well to host multiple families or, as was our case, a family with adult children that want their own space, while making it easy and enjoyable to gather for coffee in the morning, a communal dinner cooked in the kitchen, or a late night game of Marco Polo in the pool. Views/sunsets are incredible with several decks for viewing, and the location was as close to town conveniences as we've ever been on St. John. 5 stars!!

A beautiful, spacious and comfortable home near beaches and national park trails. Outstanding view with plenty of outdoor seating. Host was great at communicating and provided a wonderful experience. Would stay there again!

Our extended family had a wonderful time staying at this unique property. The home comprised of two buildings built around a small pool with an AMAZING waterfront view. The house can comfortably sleep 8 (6 adults, 2 kids) and was the perfect spot for a memorable family vacation. We had two small plumbing matters that were resolved within hours. Be sure to keep a close eye on your food as it is expensive to replace on the island (the fridge was warm but we mitigated it with some monitoring, the sugar ants do come out at night). Bring your own bug spray and sunscreen (w/o the "toxic 3 O's which are banned on the island). We rented a car on St. Thomas and loaded up on groceries (Costuless, best prices for groups) before ferrying over. We saved a great deal by eating in. The few meals we did eat out were not worth the prices (Chicago speaking) but this house was absolutely worth every penny! If you're looking for a magnificent home for a large group you won't find anything more magical!

Water Cliff was everything we hoped for. Our family of 6 adults thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful home. From the salt water pool to spectacular sunsets, everything was perfect. This is how it's done! We've stayed in many Airbnb's and this was by far the best yet. Julie and Dave were amazing hosts, the villa was beyond gorgeous, exactly like the photos! Very private, gorgeous views, great salt water pool, fun outdoor showers, comfortable beds, great kitchen and gathering room. Get's a little hot in the gathering room/kitchen in the afternoon, but with fans it was fine in January. We liked St. John's even better than St. Thomas and found it easy to get around. The villa was a little hard to find and the roads are straight up-driving on the left-but that's how you get that view! I wish we'd seen this place before we booked part of our trip elsewhere! Next time we will come straight here. We recommend it and were more than satisfied-it was amazing!

Restful week
We enjoyed our stay. Plenty of space for all of to have some alone time. The covered decks with a view of the ocean were our favorite spots. The pool, although smallish, was wonderful for cooling off and just relaxing in peace. I found the beds a bit soft, but then I like a very firm mattress- so not anything against the house, just a heads up for anyone who needs a firm mattresses. The house was very easy to get to from town and a short trip down the hill to the grocery store. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. A great week and would definitely return.

Perfect Summer Get Away
Just got back from 9 nights at Water Cliff Villa where we had an amazing time. The house was a perfect setup for our family. The views of the ocean first thing in the morning and last thing at night were spectacular. We all loved going to sleep with the sound of the ocean. Dave and Julie were so easy to get a hold of when we had questions and were very hospitable. We are all already missing those outdoor showers!

Beautiful place
Maintenance and owner were very responsive to our questions and concerns. Note that while the bedrooms have nice AC, the main living area (with kitchen/living/dining) does not. That area relies on ceiling fans and its large windows/screen doors for a nice cross breeze, but dinner prep was still a sweaty event in our early-July visit. Amenities were great - plenty of cookware options, and gas grill. Views were awesome, and the property is gorgeous.

Family time paradise
We loved our stay! It was the perfect spot for our family to play, relax, rest, cook and enjoy beautiful St. John's. We loved the pool, outdoor showers, beautiful balconies with amazing views, comfortable suites and very nice kitchen and choices of places to dine. We felt like there was no one around for miles except iguanas, goats, lizards and the neighborhood cat. We really had a special time!

Girls Trip
Loads of outdoor space to enjoy the breathtaking views. Found everything we needed in kitchen for snacks, etc., though we ate out most meals. Provided beach chairs, towels and coolers were all appreciated for daily trips to the beaches. Enjoyed the uniqueness of outdoor showers and A/C in the bedrooms.

First visit to St. John
had a great stay at Water Cliff Villa. spacious with beautiful cliffside views from pool and deck made coming back to the place each day for sunset views a must. The host staff was 10 out of 10 in timely response, addressing questions or concerns and helping with restaurant suggestions and reservations or simply helping us navigate our first time to the island.

Perfect Family Getaway
Our family of 5 had an incredible stay at Water Cliff! The house was spotless upon arrival—immaculately clean, well-stocked, and clearly cared for with attention to detail. The views from the decks were absolutely breathtaking and every room had a perfect ocean view. We had our meals on the deck and watched the boats, sunsets, and enjoyed some evening visits from the local goat family that came to graze down the hill from us.The hosts were fantastic—extremely responsive and helpful throughout our entire stay. From answering questions before we arrived to checking in during the trip to make sure we had everything we needed, their hospitality made the experience even better. The island had a brief power outage (2 hours) one night and the hosts were accessible and helped us navigate the situation. While there is no generator at this house, there are plenty of flashlights! This home is everything you want in a Caribbean escape: peaceful, scenic, and impeccably maintained. The location was perfect for us as it is easily accessible to Cruz Bay for groceries, restaurants, and shopping, but also far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful island. We would absolutely return and recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of St. John in comfort and style!

There was a little bit of miscommunication with our greeter but quickly resolved. The house is lovely. The outdoor showers are incredible and the views are magnificent. We loved hanging out on the large porches for morning coffee and gorgeous sunsets

We enjoyed our stay at water cliff Villa! The view is spectacular, we enjoyed jumping in the pool after beach days and being able to play cards with family on the deck. Air conditioners were only in the bedrooms, which is common in St. John and we absolutely love the outdoor showers. I would suggest bringing off if mosquitoes like you!

This was a perfect spot for two families with older elementary aged kids! Gorgeous views, and the pool was the perfect way to spend our afternoons after the beach. I didn't quite understand the layout when we booked – the bedrooms don't connect at all on the interior so if you're planning to sleep separately from kids, just know that. I probably wouldn't have been comfortable with kids much younger than mine. The hosts were lovely to work with and local to the island. As others have said, it feels like a ton of privacy, but is still super close to town and easy to get to beaches. We will definitely be back!

This was the most lovely place I have ever stayed. We had enough room to spread out, lovely community spaces to commune as a group, and the view - I mean really. I mean really! Natalie was a love...she was so kind to meet us and take us to the space. This is a must for first-time visitors. Such a great gift to be able to follow our host up to the VERY curvy road...it was reassuring that we were going to the right place. She was also very responsive throughout our stay. We had a few needs throughout, and the hosts were responsive. Our only sadness was when we had to leave....

Our family loved the villa on our first trip to St John. Views were incredible at all times of day and night. Villa was clean and comfortable. Every room felt like its own space with its own view and outdoor shower. Location is prime and easy to get into town. We'll come back.
